SUB: Purse Snatching
DATE: February 1, 2010

On January 30, 2010 at approximately 7 PM the Acushnet Police Department responded to Cumberland Farms located at 176 South Main St. on a report of a Purse Snatching. Officer Jeremy Fontes and Officer Kevin Walsh located an elderly female victim who reported that after she attempted to enter her car a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt came from behind her and grabbed her purse out of her hand. According to the victim the suspect then ran down Jean St.

Officer Fontes and Officer Walsh located several witnesses and eventually the suspect who was hiding in his apartment. The suspect was identified as 21-year old Aaron E. Pisz of 77 Slocum St. Officers located the victim’s purse and her belongings. While Officers were in the process of placing Mr. Pisz under arrest they located stolen property from a January 19, 2010 B&E.

Mr. Pisz was charged with 1) Unarmed Robbery, victim 60 + along with 2) B&E, 3) Larceny of $250 and 4) Destruction over $250. He was later transferred to the Bristol County House of Correction to await bail.
